Performance...


So...

I have been trying to add new areas to my game, since that is the whole point of it... But i stumbled into a major issue: Lag.

In my mind this didn't look like a difficult task to fix, since i thought i could just unload the unwanted visible textures/objects when they aren't needed and done... But my engine does not work like that. Instead of unloading the texture by making it invisible it just makes it invisible...

So it is still loaded, but not visible to the player.

It removed some lag, but major lag caused would still be there. I know how i could go around that, but it would cost me a lot of time and it would ruin the "open world" aspect of my game.

So.... what will i do now?


The simple answer is: I will not make "more" in terms of objects or textures, instead i will increase the amount i still have left for usage.

So i will take some parts away in 1 area, adding it to a new one. This will make my game way smaller then intended, but it is the best thing i can do right now.

The positive things of this are that the game will be finished sooner than expected, + i will get to work on a whole new project sooner.
